After completing his mandatory military service, He took on the lead role in the pan-Asia hit television series Descendants of the Sun (2016) which made him as a top Hallyu star. He excelled in all his studies through high school and scored 380 points out of 400 on his national college entrance test, gaining admission to Sungkyunkwan University.

Song Joong-ki commenced his acting debut in the 2008 period film ‘A Frozen Flower’. Song saw in a TV show as a contestant on KBS’s Quiz Korea, replacing a senior who was sick.
