Sarita Joshi is an Indian senior television and film actress. She is an experienced actress of Marathi theater and Gujarati Theatre. She also was seen in Marathi cinema. She is well- known for her role as Godavari Thakkar in the popular Star Plus TV serial Baa Bahoo Aur Baby. Currently, she is playing a role as Bakula Bua in &Tv show ‘Bakula Bua Ka Bhoot’.
Biography
Sarita Joshi was born on 17 October 1941 in a middle-class Marathi family in Pune, Maharashtra. She brought up in Vadodara, Gujrat. Her father named Bhimrao Bhosle and he was a barrister and her mother named Kamlabai Rane, she belongs from Goa. Due to financial problems, she started acting when she at the age of nine with her sister Padmarani. Sarita Joshi husband’s name is Praveen Joshi and he is a theater director and playwright.
Career
Sarita Joshi got her first lead role at age of 16. Later she went to act with the Indian National Theatre. She commenced her television debut in 1980 with the famous tv show Titliyan. As well as she performed in Chand Chupa Badal Mein, Khidki, Hasratein, Kuchh Kook Hota Hai etc. She is famous for performing a tough yet fair mother in the family popular tv show Baa Bahoo Aur Baby. Apart from Television she also performed in various Bollywood movies like, Kanyadaan, Pyar Hi Pyar, Guru, Dasvidaniya, and Bollywood Beats. In 1988, Sarita Joshi was awarded an Award for Acting in Gujarati by the Sangeet Natak Akademi as well as India’s National Academy of Music, Dance & Drama.
